Software
Research code that others can run. Most of it orbits IoD-Sim; the rest came out of counter-UAS, 5G and security projects. More on GitHub.
IoD-Sim
System-level simulator for the Internet of Drones, built on ns-3. Models drones, access points and the Zone Service Provider over IEEE 802.11, LTE and 5G NR, plus LEO/GEO satellites for integrated terrestrial/non-terrestrial scenarios described in JSON.
Described in Computer Networks (Elsevier) (2025), IEEE Internet of Things Journal (2023) and 2019 IEEE 30th International Symposium on Personal (2019).
SeDaFuV
Proof-of-concept UAV identification and tracking system that fuses radar, RF, optical and acoustic sensor streams. Built for sensor resilience, released as open source and ready for self-hosting.
Described in 2025 16th IFIP Wireless and Mobile Networking Conference (WMNC) (2025).
IoD-Sim Airflow
Visual programming editor for composing IoD-Sim scenarios as node graphs instead of hand-written configuration.
IoD-Sim Splash
Intermediate transpiler that turns IoD-Sim models into building blocks for the Airflow visual editor.
IoD-Sim Workspace Quickstart
Provisions an Azure virtual machine ready to run IoD-Sim binaries, for labs and students without a Linux workstation.
IUNS-3 5G NR
Google Summer of Code 2023 project improving the usability of ns-3’s 5G NR module — API refactoring and helper classes for configuring complex RAN scenarios.
GUARD Kafka security plugins
Apache Kafka authentication and authorisation plugins for the H2020 GUARD project — JWT/OAuth2 sign-in plus ACL and time-window policies for SOC monitoring pipelines.
Described in 2022 IEEE 8th International Conference on Network Softwarization (NetSoft) (2022).
